This thermometer kit can be used for monitoring the temperature in stove pipes, chimneys, and outdoor wood boilers. This thermometer reads a thermocouple probe, shows the temperature on its red LED display, and makes a buzzing sound when temperature rises above the pre-set alarm temperature. For stove pipes and chimneys, probes can be attached to the chimneys or the surface of stoves. For wood boilers, the probe can be attached to the hot water line to monitor the temperature of the water.
What is included in the kit:
• One thermometer
• One temperature probe
• (If selected) one flashing buzzer or one piezo buzzer, with 4 ft buzzer cable.
• One 12Vdc power adapter
Thermometer with Power supply, Buzzer
Thermometer:
The thermometer accepts one type K thermocouple probe and shows the temperature on its red LED display window. The temperature unit can be set to either Celsius or Fahrenheit. The thermometer has a built-in alarm buzzer and a port for an optional external buzzer. These two buzzers are synchronized. Two temperature alarms can be set on the thermometer: one alarm can be set as the high limit alarm and the other can be set as the low limit/low fuel alarm. Once the alarm is triggered, both the internal and the external buzzers will go off. The gauge is powered by 12V DC through an AC adapter (included) for continuous operation. It can also be powered by a 12V car battery. The cable length for the power adapter is 4 ft.
Probe:
Three probe options are available:
1). The washer sensor (TC-K-WS) is suitable for single-wall pipes. It can be mounted on the surface of the pipe or stove with a #10 screw. Maximum temperature 1650ºF.
2). The 4" (100 mm) probe (TC-K-BR*) with mounting bracket can be used on double-wall pipes. User needs to drill a 1/8" hole to insert the probe. Maximum temperature 1650ºF.
3). The magnet probe (TC-K-MAG) can be attached to iron or steel pipes or walls. The maximum temperature is 750ºF. If the temperature goes beyond this limit, the magnet may lose some of its holding force.
4). High temperature thermocouple for heat treatment (
WRNK-191). This probe can be used for glass kilns, heat treatment ovens, or catalytic combustors. 6" and 10" probe options are offered. For 6" probe, the very first 3" tip can handle up to 2000ºF. If you want to insert more than 3" into your chamber/oven, please consider 10" probe. The maximum temperature on the transition area (connecting the probe tip and cable) is 400°C (750°F).
Note*: This probe can be bent using tube benders. We can also bend the probe for you. Please leave a note for this special request during the checkout.

Buzzer:
The external buzzer can be placed in a room that is different from where the stove is located. Two buzzer options are provided:
1). Panel mount flashing buzzer (FLBuz-12). It will flash red light with a buzzing sound.
2). Wall mount Piezo buzzer (PZBuz). It can be screw-mounted or stuck to the wall. The piezo buzzer gives no light, but it has a very loud buzzing sound (about the same level as the smoke alarm). Please pay attention to the polarity of the Piezo Buzzer. If connected incorrectly, this buzzer won't work.
The cable can be extended to more than 100 ft with a two-conductor cable.
