This controller enclosure measures 10 x 8 x 6" (250 x 200 x 150 mm). A 1/16 or 1/4 DIN sized controller can be installed with adequate room for wiring and switching device. The box is made of powder coated, 0.040" (1 mm) thick steel. One side of the wall has a pre-cut opening. It can be used for installing cables or heat sink. The door comes with lock and key. The hinges of the door are removable. It can be installed on either right or left side. This allows the user put the pre-cut opening either on top or at the bottom without changing the door opening directions. Gasket and plugs are provided. It is rated for IP65 before any wholes are cut. The enclosure is designed to be mounted on a wall. You can directly mount it with screws or hang it on the wall with the hangers (included). For high power circuit, wall mount box is preferred because the heavy cords (14 AWG or thicker) are difficult to manage with a table top enclosure.
The box has a pre-cut hole on the top for external heatsink. If you are going to use SSR instead of contactor as the switching device, you can order the optional external mounted heat sink. The externally mounted heat sink eliminates the venting requirement of the enclosure for internally mounted heat sink. It is more efficient and keeps the inside of the controller box free from the dust. Two different sizes of heat sink are offered, 40 A and 60A. The 40A heat sink is about 1 inch narrower and 1/4" shorter. Both heat sinks come with pre-drilled and tapped mounting holes for the box and SSR. 60A heat sink has mounting holes for two SSRs. Mounting screws and thermal conductive grease are included. There is no need to cut for installing the heat sink. Please select the heat sink size option when ordering.
An option of one factory knockout hole for 1/16DIN controller is also offered. This knockout can be easily removed and it will save a lot of time and effort for most users that don't have the tools/machinery to cut it. User needs to cut some round holes for switches and connectors. But round shaped holes are much easier to cut on the sheet metal than square holes.
Placement note: This enclosure has a total depth of 5.9" or 150mm. It is not wide enough if user wants to place standard size PID controller (like SYL-2352 or EZboil) and DIN rail components (like DIN rail circuit breaker or contactor) at same height. User can place the controller and DIN rail components at different height, but please take the consideration of the heat sink & SSR on the top panel, and also the power inlets/outlets on the bottom panel. Placing the DIN components too close to the top/bottom panel may cause wiring issues. User can also use Auber's short profile controller like SYL-2362.
