This temperature sensor is for applications that need liquid tight seal such as beer brewing or biodiesel production. The sensing element is a silicon bandgap sensor (also known as simeconductor tempeature sensor). User can select either analoge type such as LM34 and LM35, or digital type such as DS18B20.
The probe body is made of stainless steel. The probe length is 4" or 100 mm. The diameter is 6 mm (slight under 1/4"). The mounting thread is available with 1/4 NPT, 1/2 NPT, M14 and Tri-clamp. The diameter of the tri-clamp flange is 1.988" (or 50.5mm) . It works with all tri-clamp systems that use this size flange, including 1", 1 1/2", 25 mm, 33.7mm and 38 mm system. (In other words, 1", 1 1/2", 25 mm, 33.7mm and 38 mm system have the same flange dimension.)
Note 1: Tri-clamp accessories (clamp, end cap, gasket) can be found
here.
Note 2: for replacement sensor cable, please find
here.
SBS100 with tri-clamp mounting
The cable of the probe has a detachable connector with a spring lock. The detachable cable is convenient for systems that need to be moved for cleaning. It reduces the possibility of breaking the cable when the tank is moved around. The cable is 6 feet (2 meter) long, three conductor, insulated with flouropolymer, color coded and protected with metal braid.
Installing the 4" (100 mm) long probe into TEE connector.
Due to the size of the sensing chip, the probe length is limited to 4 inch or longer. It is too long for it to be installed into the 90 degree port of the TEE. However, if your system allows the liquid flow to be bent 90 degree, the probe can be installed into the straight port as shown in the picture below.

Note:
1) The lead time for this product is about 1-2 weeks. Please contact us if you have any questions.
2) The Datasheet for DS18B20 can be found here. It can measure temperature range from -55°C to +125°C (-67°F to +257°F). To check the DS18B20 with a multimeter, choose the "diode testing" mode, and put the positive testing lead to the white wire (GND) of the sensor. The voltage between white wire (GND) and the red wire (VDD) should be around 0.59V ~ 0.63V; the voltage between white wire (GND) and the yellow wire (DQ) should slightly lower, around 0.49V ~ 0.55V.
3) The LM34 is analog Precision Fahrenheit Temperature Sensor; LM35 is analog Precision Centigrade Temperature Sensor.
4) We can customize this probe to different length/mounting thread. For inquiries, please contact us.
