The KIT-CUBE5E is a tabletop brewing controller DIY kit for the Auber CUBE controller Cube 5E. This controller is designed for a 240V AC 30A heating element with two 120V outlets for water and wort pumps. The built-in temperature controller module, the EZboil® DSPR320A, is designed for brewers to have the ability to do step-mashing, low-oxygen brewing, and post-boil whirlpool. For mashing, this product offers a very stable temperature control without the worry of temperature overshooting. For boiling, the front rotary knob can adjust the power output with a 1% precision interval. The built-in buzzer will notify users when a temperature alarm is triggered or when the time has ended. This kit includes each of the following:
- A 9"x5"x8" instrument grade project enclosure and a 40-A heat sink in silver color. This enclosure has precut holes on the front and knockouts on the back.
- A DSPR320A EZboil® controller.
- A 40A Solid State Relay.
- Two 2-position selector switches for manual pump control.
- A PT100 RTD temperature probe with an 8 ft braided cable with an XLRCON-M male connector (black panel mount part).
- Two fuse holders and two fuses.
- A 2-pole 32A Breaker Switch for main power control.
- Two NEMA 5-15R outlets for powering the pumps.
- NEMA L14-30P Flanged Inlet Locking Receptacle for the input power.
- NEMA L14-30R connector for the power cord.
- NEMA L6-30R Socket for the output heater.
Temperature sensor:
This DIY kit includes one PT100 RTD probe with one 8' braided cable by default (a
12' braided cable option and a
12' silicone braided cable option are also available).
The PT100 RTD sensor provides high accuracy & a wider measuring range, which is recommended for precision applications like brewing. It is superior to digital sensors, thermistor sensors or thermocouple that competitors offer. 19 different probe length/thread options are offered. See the table below for more information. Please choose the probe option above accordingly.
For tri-clamp probe options, please leave a note for the probe option# in the comment box during checkout. Or you can simply
send us an email for the trip-clamp probe that you need. The RTD sensor connector on the CUBE controller is the male XLR (
XLRCON-M).
Note: if no probe option is selected, no sensor cable will be included.

Note:
1) This kit is designed for North America 240V AC power lines that require four lines power connection (L1, L2, Neutral and Ground). All the input/output connections are NEMA standard type.
2) Although the kit includes a breaker switch, it is recommended to hook up this system with a GFCI or Earth Leak protected power line because water is involved in the brewing equipment.
3) Input power cord is not included because each user may have different hook up requirements in terms of cable length and connection type. The input power connector is included.
4) The included temperature controller requires a temperature sensor. If you want to use this controller without a sensor in boiling mode, you can check our
sensor simulator. This simulator will provide a fixed temperature reading on the controller.
