This is a brand new, dual display, 1/16 DIN (48 x 48 mm) programmable ramp soak PID temperature/process controller with remote access. Different from Auber's popular SYL-2352P/SYL-2342P, this controller comes with a remote communication feature. Users can use the provided Windows software and included USB adapter/data cable to monitor/control this controller remotely. This PID controller can be used to control external relay/contactor, solid state relay (SSR), or control a small AC load directly (see model selection section below for details).
Please see our function comparison table for ramp soak PIDs offered by Auber here.
Features
- 32 programmable ramp steps and 32 programmable soak steps (total of 64 steps)
- Single step mode for single point temperature control
- Windows OS based control software and USB adapter are included
- PID control with fuzzy logic enhancement
- Dual alarm outputs
- 0.2% accuracy over the entire input range
- Displays in either Fahrenheit or Celsius temperature unit
- Minute/second step timer
- High brightness, large LED display easily read from distance
- Manual and US technical support
- 6-month limited warranty. See details here.
This ramp soak controller is for applications where it is desirable to have an adjusted set point automatically over time. Up to 64 steps can be programmed into this controller, including 32 ramp steps to ramp the temperature up & down at controlled rate, and 32 soak steps to maintain the temperature for a specific period time. The step timer unit can be set as minute or second. This controller also has single step mode. This feature will disable ramp soak settings, so this controller will function like a single set point standard PID controller (like SYL-2342/SYL-2352).
USB adapter*, one 6ft data cable and Windows based software** are included in this listing. User can use his Windows PC (not included) to monitor and adjust the settings via USB adapter.
* The default USB adapter option is not AC insulated. Please be careful when you connect this data cable from the PID to USB adapter. If high voltage is applied on this data cable by mistake, high voltage will damage this USB adapter and your connected computer. For better protection, optional AC insulated USB adapter is offered and recommended. It can protect your computer from high voltage damage.
** The included software is developed and supported in English language Win OS. For non-English Win OS, some features/functions may be limited. MacOS/Linux is currently not supported. Communication protocol is modbus-RTU.

This PID controller has two alarm relay outputs. Alarm 1 is a temperature alarm. It can be activated by the temperature set point (absolute high/low alarm, relative high/low alarm, etc). Alarm 2 is a program ending alarm. Once the program is completed, this alarm can be turned on for a specific duration time, to drive a buzzer or indicator.
User can use Auber PID software to monitor the current controller status, check record plot, record data, download new program and more. See key features below:
- Check and edit all the parameter settings.
- Edit and store multiple ramp soak programs with customized project names. Easily transfer your new program to the PID.
- Monitor and record your temperature trace. Export to spreedsheet file or plot file.
- Monitor multiple PIDs at same page
Model Selection
We offer three models in this series: SYL-5342PA and SYL-5352PA. Please read the description below to choose the correct model for your application.
SYL-5342PA (relay/contactor output)
This model has a built-in relay that can handle 10 A of current at 120VAC. That means a small load can be connected directly to the controller without the need of an external relay or SSR. That is a very convenient for applications in which only a small heater is used. It can also be used to drive external relays or contactors.
Note: Refurbished SYL-5342PA may be limited stock here.
SYL-5352PA (SSR output)
This model has 10 VDC output for controlling external solid state relays (SSR). It can drive up to 4 x single phase SSRs in parallel. Customized Plug-n-Play controller with built-in SYL-5352P is offered. Please find here.
Note: Refurbished SYL-5352PA may be limited stock here.

*The actual ramp rate needs to be the multiples of 0.1 (°C/min, if displayed in °C), or multiples of 0.3 (°F/min, if displayed in °F). So if displayed in °C, the actual ramp rate (°C/min) can be 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 or higher. If displayed in °F, the actual ramp rate (°F/min) can be 0.3, 0.6, 0.9, 1.2 or higher. If your actual rate is 0.2°F/min or 0.12°C/min, it will be automatically rounded up.
To achieve higher ramp rate resolution, user can use RS485 protocol to update SV in a certain period of time. See RS485 supplementary manual below for details.
