PID Temperature Control Retrofit KIT for Rancilio Silvia

It will change your life! I have no electronics experience but am generally handy and have lots of tools. I was able to install it in 3.5 hours. This is a good PID for novices because it solves the core temp problem and the installation is easier and there is less to go wrong. See the YouTube videos to understand how to handle the wiring.

Some observations:

- at step 3 of the SSR instructions, be sure to route all 4 SSR cables into the boiler compartment and then route the two input cables back out via the steam wand. The instruction is vague about this.

- test the controller before closing the top silvia boiler cover and before affixing the controller to the silvia with the tape. If no numbers appear when you turn on the machine, make sure the piggy-back connectors are pushed in firmly and check black wires in external controller box.

You will wonder how you ever got along without this PID. It is so relaxing not having to watch the light and timing the shot by surfing. Get this PID now!
