It looks like Auber did research to find on how best to upgrade their SYL-1615 and hit a home run doing it. They added an addition probe for food monitoring, they have the open lid detection, an excellent app for control, Wi-Fi enabled, multi level cook profiles, and outstanding instructions.
My first use was for smoking a pork butt on my Vision Kamado grill. The controller was a breeze to hook up and had no difficulty connecting to the Wi-Fi. It was a little bit of learning curve to get my top vent set, but after that the controller held it steady at 225 for ten hours. The multi step profile was a breeze to set up and you can change in the middle of the cooking process.
I looked at other controllers that were more expensive and lacked some of the features of the SYL-2615. You cant go wrong with this controller. Now onto smoking a beef brisket.
